Alicia Tennison
Alicia Tennison graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Music in 1991. She began her teaching career in elementary music and band, a role she deeply enjoyed. After stepping away from the classroom for a season to care for her young children, she returned to teaching—this time in 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms in Jacksonville.
She holds a Bachelor of Music, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and completed advanced studies in Educational Leadership to earn her Principal Certification. Her passion for supporting both students and teachers eventually led her into administration, where she served for five years as principal of West Side Elementary in Jacksonville. During that time, the school became a recognized Leader in Me campus, emphasizing the development of student character and leadership.
Alicia and her husband, Randy, are the proud parents of three children: Michaela and husband Mason Jones (both Brook Hill alumni, Class of 2012), Calvin Tennison, and Madilyn Tennison. They are also joyfully blessed with two grandchildren, Miles and Hallie.
Rooted in her faith, Alicia seeks to honor the Lord through her work and relationships. Her life verse, Colossians 3:23, serves as a daily reminder: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
