Resurrection Week Preview

From the desk of Dr. Ward, Director of Campus Life & Ministry:

One of our annual traditions is a spiritual emphasis week for MS and US students the week before Easter. Last year we changed the name from OASIS Week to Resurrection Week to remind us about what Easter celebrates. ÌýHere is a preview of Resurrection Week 2014, April 14-17. I’ll send out more details as we get closer to the event.

Our Speakers

We will have separate middle school and high school speaker sessions that will also be divided by gender. This year’s speakers are members of the Tyler community.

Paul McKenzie serves as youth pastor at . Paul is the husband of Jill McKenzie, who previously taught at The Brook Hill Lower School.

Raychel McKelvy works withÌýthe,Ìýdirecting their summer camp program. She has already met our juniors and seniors when she was on campus to talk with them about summer camp counselor opportunities.

Our Worship Leaders

is a musician and worship pastor from Dallas. His recent album is entitledÌýSecret of the Burning Heart. He will lead a combined worship time on Monday and Tuesday.

Ìýwill joinÌýus on Wednesday to lead our chapel time for both worship and teaching.

OASIS Day

Just because we’ve changed the name from OASIS Week does not mean we won’t have a time for community service. Our OASIS DayÌýwill be Thursday, April 17 from 9am to 1pm. Our advisory small groups will conduct service projects from 9am to noon and then have lunch. School will dismiss early at 1pm.

Good Friday = No Classes

Don’t forget: no school on Good Friday. (Some might be tempted to call that aÌýGreat Friday.)
