Mountain Women
Our high school girls that participated in Mountain Women SPARC spent their days in the Ozarks hiking up and down trails along the Upper Buffalo River and exploring the caves of Lost Valley. They ended up doing quite a bit more hiking than originally planned due to surprise weather and vehicle issues, but they still saw incredible rock formations, hidden caves, towering (and frigid) waterfalls and zip-lined through some seriously misty forests.
Highlights from the trip were morning solitary times spent journaling, praying, and reading God’s word in the midst of His beautiful creation and evenings around the fire discussing what God was showing them about His view of who they are through Christa Black’s book God Loves Ugly. The girls were beautiful imitators of Christ as they served each other, loved each other, encouraged each other, taught each other, and “puddle jumped” with each other making the most out of circumstances beyond their control.
