Jamie Reason Named TAPPS 4A Fine Arts Teacher of the Year

Graduation(TA)-282

It is with great pride that The Brook Hill School announces that our own Orchestra Director, Mrs. Jamie Reason, has been named the TAPPS 4A Fine Arts Teacher of the Year for 2016. Mrs. Reason has served the Brook Hill School and her students with distinction for 16 years, and has been a music teacher, mentor and dear friend to many young musicians for much longer than that.

Receiving this honor has more to it than the fact that Jamie led our orchestra to the State Championship. Various awards, achievements and community service by our orchestra students here at Brook Hill were taken into consideration for this great honor.

Glenn Ballard, Director of Fine Arts, commented, “Jamie has been an exemplary educator and has endeared herself to her students, their parents and to her professional colleagues. She has definitely helped to forge the culture that is Brook Hill. She has built a very successful program and we have been blessed to have had her these past sixteen years. She will be sorely missed, but we wish her a very happy retirement!”

Mrs. Reason was honored at the Brook Hill Fine Arts banquet on May 17 and also at a special reception in her honor on May 26. The reception was attended by many of her current students, alumni, parents and professional colleagues. She will be presented a special plaque from TAPPS later this summer honoring her as Teacher of the Year.
