Fiddler On the Roof
Our Fine Arts Department is famous for its incredible spring musical, and this year’s perfromance of FIddler on the Roof is no exception. Not only is the show spetacular, but its message is relevant. Take this quote by our Director from the program:
“Yesterday’s blatant immorality is now the norm in our culture. I really believe that our modern society has lost its mind. But such challenges to Faith are not new. Believers who try to follow the Lord have always been in the minority and have always been dismissed or persecuted.”
“In Fiddler, Tevye comes face to face with just such a challenge to his faith, from within his own family. And while learning that some things really are just “traditions,” and are subject to change, there are some things that are non-negotiable.”
“In one heart-rending scene Tevye says to his daughter, ‘No Chava. Some things do not change for us. Some things will never change!’ When the modern world says there is no God, and the Scriptures are antiquated and the resurrection of Jesus is just a myth, I hope we will have the courage to say, ‘No! Some things do not change for us!'” – Glenn Ballard, Fine Arts Director.
