Easter Chapel
What did you get in your Easter basket? Mr. Pierce asked us that very same question during chapel this week. He shared about some of the things he received: chocolate, candy, and some very special eggs. Calling 4 students to the front, Mr. Pierce gave each one of the eggs he had received: a green one, a blue one, a purple one, and a gold one. The real story, however, came each student opened his or her egg. In the first we found the cross and in the second three nails. The third held a stone, but the fourth was empty.
This, Mr. Pierce shared, was the story of Easter. There was the cross that Jesus bore, the nails that went into his feet and hands. There was the stone they rolled in front of his tomb. But, the beauty of Easter is that on the third day the tomb was empty! Jesus was raised from the dead that we might be delivered from our sins and granted eternal life with him!
