Courage and Character on the Battlefield

The group participating in “Courage and Character on the Battlefield” began their journey with a day analyzing the battle of Gettysburg with former National Park Chief Historian Bob Prosperie.  We then spent a day in D.C. that concluded with a 3 hour in-depth evening tour of the Capitol with Congressman Louie Gohmert.  After a stop at Jefferson’s Monticello, we settled in at Lexington for the remainder of the week.

In the classroom and on the battlefield, our group was led by Col. Keith Gibson and Maj. Troy Marshall of V.M.I., along with Mr. Dement, who provided examples and personal applications of teenage courage and character exhibited in the Civil War Battle of New Market.  Of course, this trip would not be complete without some amazing dining experiences along with a theatrical comedy at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
