Boys and girls at the Lower School dressed up as wild west cowboys and cowgirls to celebrate reading and the Scholastic Book Fair. Our buckaroos paraded down the halls and into the gym where Sheriff Fletcher and Sheriff Fritcher passed out bookmarks. The Book Fair is open for shopping through November 17.
Mrs. Attebery’s class told the story of the Centurion from Luke 7:1-10 in chapel this week.
“Our visit to the museum was our first visit in 2nd grade so it was mostly just to expose our students to the museum and allow any students new to Brook Hill to see the museum,” Heidi Berry said. “Of course it is always full of American history, so there’s that, too!”

Mrs. Dawkins’ 4th graders wrote scary stories full of lots of fun characters and spooky places. They shared them with all 2nd grade classes.
Mrs. Batis’s 2nd grade class has been earning shells for outstanding behavior in the classroom, halls, art, music, library, Spanish and Science Lab. The classes read Duck for President and worked in stations to learn vocabulary as well as making a campaign button and registration card to practice some responsibilities of voting citizens. In honor of Great Book Week, Pumpkins on Parade has been happening in the Lower School Library. Pumpkins on Parade is a contest where students decorate or disguise a pumpkin to resemble a character from a library book. The pumpkins were on display Monday – Friday.Â
