Many of our students at the Lower School participated in a speech meet today in Kaufman. Congratulations to all of them for such hard work!

At the end of Fine Arts Week at the Lower School, the Lower School Orchestra students got to perform several songs for an assembly of their peers, teachers and families.

This week in Lower School chapel, quarterly awards were given out for different scholarly achievements and Christ-like characters.

For Fine Arts week, students at the Lower School were able to experience many different aspects of Fine Arts at Brook Hill. Students from the Upper School Chorale, Orchestra and Drama departments performed before Lower School students received awards on stage.

During Fine Arts week at the Lower School, Brook Hill parent, Mrs. Moreman brought her art and demonstrated how she creates some of these masterpieces.

Mrs. Bickerstaff’s bunch held their own Olympics during the last two weeks. They discussed the motto of the Olympics – how winning or losing is not the most important thing but the effort and challenge involved is. They then chose one school subject they felt strong in and one they wanted to challenge themselves with. […]

Monday, February 19th, Mr. Brown paid third graders a visit in Mrs. Brown’s third grade class. He discussed the use of triangles to create circles. They looked at several geometric designs and then created their own using geoboards and rubber bands. They continued to enjoy creating designs throughout the week.

On Monday, February 26th, students in Mrs. Brown’s third grade class made origami jumping frogs and in the afternoon, enjoyed the sunshine by measuring frog jump heights and lengths using customary and metric measurements. After collecting the data of 10 jumps they were able to average the lengths and heights of their frog jumps.

The 1st grade classes finished off their Lower School Chapel sprint this week with a performance that included their teachers.

Fifteen students from grades 3 -8 competed last Friday in Plano for the area Math Olympics competition. They were a part of 235 students from 15 other schools completing four rounds of questions in either reasoning or computation categories.
