Guard Chorale Sings with UT Tyler Patriot Singers

This past weekend our Guard Chorale sang with the UT Tyler Patriot Singers at First Presbyterian Church in Tyler! It was a beautiful concert filled with sacred music. It was also a joy to sing with some of our alumni who are a part of the Patriot Singers!

Guard Chorale Competes at State

On Saturday the Guard Chorale competed in the TAPPS 4A State Vocal Contest at The University of Mary Hardin Baylor.  The Ladies Choir and Men’s Choir both received Superior ratings for their performances. Also receiving Superior ratings for their solos were Brianna Young, Lauren Eden, Claire Dixon, Chipper Adams, and Taylor Armstrong. During Fine Arts Week at the Lower School, Tyler Junior College professor, Dave Funk was invited to demonstrate working with clay on a potter’s wheel. Second through fifth graders enjoyed learning about this medium and were amazed at how quickly a lump of clay was transformed into a clay pot!  Â
