Calling all hillbillies and city-slickers

The Brook Hill Middle School will present a “Hampers and Hoedown” party on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25th.

“The annual Middle School event has traditionally been performed in early December,” director Glenn Ballard said. “But this school year, we decided to present the amazing Madrigal Dinner to celebrate our 20th year, so the Middle School show was moved to February.”

The evening’s entertainment will feature a play by the MS drama class titled “Backwoods Blues.” The play, directed by Glenn Ballard, is about two feuding families in Arkansas who decide to settle their feud with a music contest. The MS choir will then perform the wonderful American classic “Oklahoma” under the direction of choir director Patti Eden.

The festivities begin at 6 on Friday night with an old-fashioned chili supper — so come hungry. Saturday night’s fare will be special desserts like old-fashioned home-made pies, cobbler and cakes.

Seating is limited and reservations are required. Ticket price includes dinner on Friday night and dessert offerings on Saturday night.
