Brook Hill Middle School Athletics: It will change your life

From the desk of Wally Dawkins, Athletic Director:

When I catch myself thinking about it, it occurs to me that being involved in Brook Hill Middle School Athletics could have a tremendous impact on the life of children ages 12-14

After all, when you have over 120 student-athletes competing on your Middle School Track Team, who for three weeks in a row, participate in track and field events against 24 different schools, you begin to recognize and realize the commitment they have to their school and their teammates.

The 120 student-athletes that I am talking about have the opportunity to practice with 8 amazing coaches who are also full-time employees of Brook Hill serving as teachers, administrators and Athletic Department Staff who are not only experts in their sports, but they also care deeply about these student-athlete’s spiritual relationship, academic excellence, and social inter-action and well-being.

The beauty of having 120 student-athletes participating in Track and Field is that it is one of the few sports where you are actually competing against yourself. In Track & Field, you are always striving to achieve your personal best. To improve. To go farther…faster…higher than you ever have before.

The Brook Hill Middle School Athletic Program is focused on that being the goal. Commitment, improvement, positive results.

The goal is not just to be the best Middle School Athlete you can be and to win games, but to prepare yourself by improving and growing while anticipating the challenges presented by competing at the high school varsity level…and beyond.

The 20 coaches at Brook Hill who are full-time employees coach the varsity teams, the sub-varsity teams, and the BH Middle School Teams. Head Football Coach Scott Ryle leads and develops Middle School football practices and athletes every day. Anthony Springer and Brock Lemire do the same for softball and baseball, as does David Collins in soccer and Candise Wise in volleyball.

Jacob Agnew, our Head Boys Basketball Coach works with Middle School players every day during basketball season, while Tiffany Hubbard leads cheerleading and drill team for not only Upper and Middle School, but Lower School as well. Joey Wilson, who is our Head Boys and Girls Track Coach, also works with those 120 Middle School Track & Field student-athletes four to five days each week.

So…. where else but at Brook Hill are you able to get the things listed below?  Things that could change your child’s attitude…perspective…outlook…LIFE!

  1. Varsity coaches that work with Middle School Athletes every day, promoting Christ-like character, academic excellence and athletic success.
  2. A place where Middle School student athletes have the opportunity to participate in 11 different interscholastic sports…including Lacrosse.
  3. Multi-sport participation is encouraged, even if in simultaneous times of the year, by the BH coaching staff who design practice schedules to accommodate individual needs.
  4. Cheerleaders are allowed to participate in other sports while cheering.
  5. Sixth grade student athletes have the ability to play on seventh grade teams, while training year round with the BH Coaching Staff.
  6. A school athletic program that promotes girl’s athletics equally with boys.
  7. MS student-athletes at Brook Hill, male and female, have the opportunity to participate in our summer Strength and Conditioning Program that meets three days per week starting June 5th through July 20th. The SAC is run by our BH Coaching Staff.
  8. Student athletes are mentored, molded, and advised by 51AVƵ coaches not only for athletic purposes but in the game of life itself.
  9. Where winning games is the goal, but it is not the reason we compete. Our coaches invest daily in our Middle School students that it is for the Glory of God. That’s why we play!
  10. Where just the right mixture of fun is thrown in (I.e., April events like Dads, Daughters, Donuts & Dance and Father, Son, Pancakes & Fun. — Details coming!).

And these are just a few of the advantages BH Middle Schoolers have over other student athletes in grades 6th-8th.

So now. You think about it. Isn’t this type of environment…atmosphere…investment from coaches that your child needs?

Brook Hill Middle School Athletics: Allow it to change your child’s life.

And that’s another reason to be “ALL ORANGE”…All The Time!
