Art 1 Makes Hand Scultures
Art 1 students are working with plaster gauze strips to make hand sculptures this week. Students begin by cutting strips of gauze, and then thinking of a creative way to position their hand. Some made a “Rock’n Roll” sign while others pretended to hold something. Students dip the gauze strips in a solution and wrap their hands to create the sculpture. After the strips dry, students carefully and strategically cut the sculpture off their hand and seal the sculpture back with more strips, making a beautiful sculpture!
